This elemental intersection reunites the outside with the internal single storey extension.  Slabs of white concrete cast in situ turn the traditional patio space into a liveable geometric art installation. The glass panels act as intermediary between the warm wood interior and polar ice sheets beyond only thankfully, this backyard isn't disappearing anytime soon.

Earning a Highly Commended at the London Planning Awards and standing in the footsteps of an ex public toilet, the Hut, as it has become affectionately known, has regenerated an area historically used for burning out stolen scooters.  In creating a dialogue between the ecclesiastical and modernist influences of the nearby church and Lubetkin building, the Hut adds a new chapter to the story of Spa Fields, Clerkenwell.
